No Reins Girl Photography

Both in sport and culture, rugby has it’s personalities and dedicated fans. One such personality both dedicated and passionate about the game is not a woman who picked up a rugby ball but her camera instead and went to work documenting the game we love. Press passes slung around her neck and a dedicated following of over 1,500 Twitter followers we find the creative behind No Reins Girl Photography – a personality known simply as Sharon Lovell.

She has hit the pitch hard in her second season with her photographs featuring national and international rugby. Sharon got into rugby photography when a friend (OPSB Alumni) introduced her to the sport in March 2009 and shortly thereafter decided to get involved with the SFGG in January 2010. Since then her photography work took off like a rocket being published in the likes of Rugbymag.com and for USA 7s.

Despite having never done sports photography prior to January 2010, her first rugby match to shoot was the SFGG vs NZ Unis in San Francisco. Since then in little over two years time, she has garnered a body of work that no doubt has put her on a list of must calls if you need your match shot. Check out her Facebook and SmugMug pages to explore and purchase her work for your home, commercial or Club’s enjoyment!

Sharon’s sharp wit and enthusiasm for the game are just two of the many things that make her a great addition to the US rugby community. Look for her online and perhaps say hello at any major rugby event out west.
